Over the last 2 decades, search engine technology has majorly focused on organizing the worlds information, and presenting the best possible results to the user. These results are pointer to web pages with a unique address, URLs on a server/DNS.
The idea of having a “dialog” with the user is an alien concept to this approach !* The use cases being demonstrated with ChatGPT are absolutly amazing, and its application as “search engine” stands out.
Developers are decoding/creating code using this chatbot, content creators are using it to create original content, and many more. People are building business plans, writing poems, asking questions about everything factual to philosophy, and the results are nuts.
* It’s not perfect, but if this is the first version, what would it be able to do in 10 years ? Unprecedented indeed !
* Seems like Microsoft is launching a version of its #bing search engine with ChatGPT powering it, Microsoft is also an investor in OpenAI. Another search engine “YOU” seems to be already doing this.
I wonder, if something like ChatGPT can be made the voice and brain of anything physical, like a hardware bot… sounds like a plot of a Marvel movie.
